I posted 2 versions of this piece because I like them both. I rarely get asked to redo a commission after the final stage of color and I thought I had it right when I sent the golden blonde version. the client preferred a more copper tone to her hair though, which I think looks pretty good too...

this is my "realistic" take of the sludgebucket character from "the real ghostbusters" cartoon series.

Gypsy Girl commission

I enjoyed doing this piece. it was fun to do the over-sized fabric of her dress and to do a turban-wearing lady for the first time. one of the reasons I like drawing girls with long hair is that I can practice creating the illusion of motion in static poses by drawing flowing hair. in this piece I had to practice that effect with the long cloth.

since I enjoyed drawing the princess diana commission, decided to do another "amazon" warrior sketch - her mother, queen hippolyta. guess all the hype about a new wonder woman tv series rubbed off on me. I think I'll try to make her look more like Lynda Carter when I do a colored version of this piece.

Mutants and Masterminds groupshot

This is one of the six pieces of art I did for the Mutants and Masterminds TCG that I just finished. I enjoyed doing this piece a lot because it felt like doing an X-Men cover art in the Jim Lee era or just a standard cramped X-Men groupshot poster. I'd definitely love to do more stuff like this.

3D Experiment

this is what the movie "Avatar" inspired me to do - experiment on turning Joe Madureira's Darksiders drawing into an anaglyphic image using photoshop. try putting on a pair of red and blue 3D glasses to see if it works. i'll try it out on one of my own drawings next.

The Celestial cover # 3

today, i got started with the new chapter of the webcomic, The Celestial with this cover. i have drafted at least six pages of the comics weeks ago but had to postpone inking because of other projects. having done away with those, i doodled this piece when i woke up this morning and went on with the inks.

after laboring through weeks of deadlines I finally had time to take a breather and finish the pencil work on this portrait I started a month ago. I really like how it looks so much that I want to color it - but that'll have to wait till I catch up on the pages of "The Celestial."

*As of November 21, 2009 no new revisions have been asked by client Atlantis Studios for this project but they still haven't honored the provision on the contract they supplied me through James Watson that states pay would be sent immediately after final revisions. No payment has been sent as of this writing, December 1, 2009 and no further communication has been received from Atlantis Studios and/or James Watson since November 22, 2009.
